The Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV is a compact SUV that has been on top of the Mercedes-Benz lineup for several years. It's built on the same platform as the smart fortwo, but it is much larger and has more space inside.
The GLB has a turbocharged 2.0L engine that produces 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission is an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. All versions come with front wheel drive as standard equipment; all-wheel-drive is available as an option on some models.
All GLB SUVs come standard with Mercedes-Benz' 4Matic system, which distributes power between front and rear wheels based on traction requirements at any given moment in time. This system can also be turned off completely if desired by pressing a button located near the gas pedal, which stops all attempts at distributing power between front and rear axles completely. This system will remain off until it is switched back on manually by the driver.
